It’s been just over 3 months since Picture the Ocean got down to business. We changed our name from Jesse Dee & Jacquie B to Picture the Ocean, and set about recording a new record. We really wanted to make something that captured the essence of the new name, and I think that we accomplished our goal.

 

So now we’re waiting. Jacquie and I are sitting in our current temporary home in Edmonton, and I’m continually checking the FedEx tracking online. The package (CDs) was supposed to arrive yesterday, but as usual FedEx messed things up and it was delayed until today. I keep looking out the window every time I hear a larger than normal engine drive by, but all I see is the depressing April 27 snow fall.

 

It’s rather strange to have this project reach completion so quickly. The last album Our Ghost Will Fill These Walls took nearly 13 months to finish, and with that release only 6 months behind us, it feels amazing to be putting out a record that is truly current.

 

As soon as I hear the doorbell ring and lug 122 pounds of paper and plastic in the house, we will be feverishly packing envelopes with pre-orders, and sending them on their way to all the lovely people who helped us get this project done soon than later. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
